Gamer Dating in Southampton

Southampton and Portsmouth sit twenty miles apart on the Solent, and between them have a large group of our members. Gamer dating on the south coast means you can look in both cities, and in Winchester, Eastleigh and Fareham in between.

Across the two cities, members are mostly 25 to 34, a little under half, with about a quarter aged 35 to 44. Both cities have big universities, but our members here are mainly past their student years.

Southampton's city centre and Portswood have board game cafés and gaming bars, and Solent University teaches games design, so game jams and student showcases come round each year. In Portsmouth, Southsea is the hub, with independent cafés, bars and comic shops, and the university there teaches games too. Both cities run regular tabletop and retro gaming nights.

Date ideas on the south coast

A walk along Southsea seafront and up the Spinnaker Tower, a board game café in Portswood, or the SeaCity Museum in Southampton, which tells the story of the Titanic's crew. Ferries to the Isle of Wight make an easy day out when it is sunny.

Set your distance to take in both cities. Twenty miles on the train is a short trip, and it widens your matches considerably.

Around the Solent

Our south coast members live in Shirley, Portswood, Bitterne and Woolston in Southampton, in Southsea, Fratton and North End in Portsmouth, and in Eastleigh, Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Winchester in between. The train between the two cities takes under an hour, and Basingstoke and Bournemouth both have members of their own within reach.

Most members across the two cities are 25 to 44. Portsmouth leans slightly older than Southampton, but between them the age mix is close to our UK average.

Life by the water

Both cities are built around the sea, and a lot of dates here end up on the waterfront: Southsea Common and the seafront, Ocean Village and Mayflower Park in Southampton. The New Forest is close for a walk with ponies wandering past, and the ferries make the Isle of Wight a simple day out. When the weather turns, a board game café or a few online sessions are the obvious fallback.
